The customer faced the need for additional laboratory capacity as part of a larger expansion of its production and laboratory facilities. This placed significant demands on the overall solution. The new facilities were required to operate in a regulated environment where compliance, documentation, and quality are critical. The solution therefore needed to be robust, reliable, and compliant without compromising operational flexibility.
A key requirement was that the solution should not only address immediate needs but also be designed with the future in mind. The setup needed to be future-proof, easy to maintain, and scalable to support the customer’s continued development.
Complete BMS and VDS Implementation
Eltronic delivered a complete BMS and VDS implementation for the new laboratory facilities, covering the entire process—from design and installation to programming, testing, and handover.
The delivery included:
- Complete BMS and VDS implementation, including associated utilities
- PLC and SCADA programming based on open standards
- Manufacturing and delivery of electrical panels, complete installation, and cabling
- Integration of third-party equipment
- Validation, testing, and documentation with a focus on compliance
- Technical consultancy and version control throughout the project
A key component of the solution was the integration of a new SCADA system built on open and standardized technologies. An important aspect was designing the system so that the customer could independently manage operations and maintenance after project completion.
By using standard libraries, standard components, and control modules, the solution became more consistent and easier to maintain. This supports more efficient day-to-day operations, reduces complexity, and creates a more robust platform that is easier to develop and scale over time.
“When expanding laboratory facilities in a regulated environment, it is essential that the solution is compliant, reliable, and economically sustainable in the long term. Our focus has been on creating an open and future-proof system that the customer can operate independently—without compromising quality or flexibility.”
