Thobias Willert receives DI Southeast Jutland’s Apprentice Award 2026

At the age of 16, Thobias Willert moved 70 kilometres to begin his apprenticeship as an electrician at Eltronic. That decision says a great deal about the person he is: committed, courageous, and ready to take initiative. It is precisely those qualities that have now been recognised with DI Southeast Jutland’s Apprentice Award 2026.

The award was presented at DI Southeast Jutland’s Business Forum, where local companies pay tribute to talented apprentices and students who stand out through their education and their efforts in everyday working life. This year, the award went to 20-year-old Thobias Willert, who completed his apprenticeship at Eltronic in Hedensted and now continues with the company as a qualified electrician.

At Eltronic, we are both proud and delighted that Thobias has received this recognition. Throughout his apprenticeship, he has not only shown strong professional interest and a willingness to learn, but also the ability to take responsibility and contribute new ideas in practice.

Among other things, Thobias has helped develop an IT tool for comparing prices across suppliers, and he has also taken part in a major customer project in Mexico involving a complex production line. This reflects an apprentice who not only completes his tasks but actively seeks to create value and contribute to development together with his colleagues.

An apprentice who stands out

According to Jacob Vendelbo, Service and Aftersales Manager at Eltronic, it is Thobias’ particular combination of courage, independence, and diligence that makes him stand out:

“I nominated Thobias for the Apprentice Award 2026 because I have never met such a courageous, conscientious, skilled, and independent young man. Every door is quite simply open to him. He only needs to point in the direction he wishes to develop further, and it is my greatest privilege to help pave the way.”

At DI Southeast Jutland, Thobias is also highlighted as a special example of what an apprentice can contribute to a company. Vice Chairman Lars Nonbye says:

“Thobias is a unique example of an apprentice with a work ethic, commitment, and courage that are truly exceptional. With unusual drive and determination, he has made the very most of his apprenticeship – for himself, for his trade, and for the company.”

He also points out that Thobias’ story can help inspire other young people to choose a vocational education and to see the many opportunities that path can open.

A strong professional foundation at Eltronic

Thobias’ journey at Eltronic began with curiosity and a willingness to learn. Since then, he has developed in a highly professional environment, where he has had the opportunity to take on technical tasks, collaborate across teams, and contribute to customer projects in practice.

For us, it is an important part of apprenticeship training that young talents are given the opportunity to develop in practice, take responsibility, and become part of an environment with strong professional expertise. Thobias is a strong example of what can grow when commitment meets skilled colleagues, trust, and the right opportunities.

Thobias himself is also pleased about both the award and the next step in his career:

“I am very proud to receive DI Southeast Jutland’s Apprentice Award. During my time at Eltronic, I have gained valuable experience, great colleagues, and professional confidence, and I look forward to continuing my work as a qualified electrician.”

The fact that Thobias is continuing with Eltronic after completing his apprenticeship makes the recognition even more meaningful. The award is not only a pat on the back for an excellent apprenticeship – it is also a clear reflection of the skills and mindset he brings with him into the next stage of his working life.

We warmly congratulate Thobias on receiving DI Southeast Jutland’s Apprentice Award 2026 and look forward to following his continued development at Eltronic.
